Patricio
Morales Born
in Quito, Ecuador, Patricio Morales literally raised himself on
a steady diet of South American music. At 8 years old, he began
his music career with his first band called Semillas and moved
on to his next band, Alborada, meaning the first light of morning,
playing traditional music.
In 1994, Patricio emigrated to the United
States to study English and obtain his music degree beginning
a musical journey through
Sacramento City College. He sat in with several bands, including
Alma Andina, until joining Diluvio!. He has played the charango,
a Bolivian mandolin, since he was 8 years old and began studying
guitar the following year. Since the incarnation of Diluvio!, he
has also devoted time to learning the Tiple, or salsa guitar, as
well as piano, Chinese violin, and other instruments. He writes
Diluvio!’s salsa and Spanish pop music, often both music
and lyrics.
Aside from his devotion to a life of music,
he relishes time with his son Adrian and daughter Andrea and
performs 3 a.m. duties as
a master baker for Freeport Bakery, one of Sacramento’s culinary
highlights.
